Ms Kimberly L. Bente
Welcome to Almeria ….. Home of the Dolphins!
When I came to Almeria 13 years ago, I was intrigued by the mascot. Dolphins are considered one of the most intelligent creatures in the animal world. They are excellent communicators with an extraordinary ability to work together. Just as the dolphins do, our staff members strive to communicate and work as a team to meet the needs of every student. Almeria’s staff is dedicated to ensuring that each of our students has the opportunity to receive the best education. My goal is for all students to develop a positive connection to the staff and the process of learning. We want students to look forward to coming to school each day and striving to learn and achieve. Parents and students, you too, are part of our “Almeria dolphin pod!”
Becoming a member of this pod does take work, as I can attest. Through hard work and perseverance, anyone can plan and achieve goals. It was in the 7th grade that I decided I wanted to be a teacher. I’ve been involved in some aspect of education for the past 22 years. I put myself through college earning both a Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching credential. After many years of teaching, I went back to school and earned my Master’s in Educational Administration.
I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of educational roles. Currently, I serve as Assistant Principal; though I have been an eighth grade Algebra and Science Teacher, ASB Director, Science Team Leader, Bilingual Site Monitor, Curriculum Writer. Before Almeria, I taught every grade kindergarten through eighth and even directed a preschool.
The mission statement of Almeria Middle School is “Learn today for success tomorrow.” I know that the teachers, the books, the learning in school and the friends I've chosen have molded me to become who I am. I try to live by the words, “Be the change you seek in the world.” I hope that you, too, as an Almeria parent or student will learn daily so that you can make a positive contribution to our world.
